Designed and manufactured in right in California, Onewheel + XR is
the latest model of FutureMotion’s single-wheeled,
revolutionary electric riding platform that’s controlled by simply
leaning your body in the direction you want to go.
Onewheel + XR combines the motion-sensing technology of a smartphone
with motor and battery technology from the electric car industry and is
designed to be so intuitive that you can learn the basics in just a few
rides.
In
talking with many of you, we know the dream has been to go on bigger
adventures, ride farther, or even use Onewheel as your primary vehicle.
We happened to agree and our engineers set out to make that a reality with Onewheel+ XR. Onewheel+ XR takes all of the awesomeness of Onewheel+ and let’s you enjoy it for almost 2.5x farther. With
a bigger battery on-board, our engineers were able to squeeze more
power out of the pack which gives XR more juice to help with high torque
situations and overall ride quality. This
opens the door for endless possibilities, seamless commutes and, no
more worries about making it back home. Together with Onewheel+ there’s
now a board that fits every rider’s needs.
FAQ
Is my Onewheel+ ready to go out of the box?
Yes! But we recommend you fully charge your Onewheel+ before
your first ride. Also, it is important to read and understand the
Owner’s Manual.
What shoes are best for Riding?
We recommend skate shoes, with their flat bottoms, and good
protection. Avoid shoes with very soft foam soles and never ride in
sandals, or barefoot.
What is the minimum age to ride?
Onewheel is recommended for riders 14 years of age and older.
What's the maximum age to ride?
There is none! We have riders of all ages and it is never too late to start riding a Onewheel.
What is the maximum rider weight for Onewheel?
275 lbs (125kg)
How do I change the riding Shaping?
First, it’s important to connect to your Onewheel App. Once
connected, you can scroll through Sequoia, Cruz, Mission, Elevated or
Delirium. More information about each of these can be found when you
click on the question mark on each picture. When you swipe into each, a
message will notify you it’s been activated. Get ready to ride!
Why is my Onewheel’s power button LED blinking?
The pulsing blue light on the power button is an indicator
of battery level. The more “on” the pulsing is, the more charged your
Onewheel is. If the LED is mainly off with brief pulses of “on”, then
your Onewheel is low on charge. When this happens you will want to turn
your board off and charge it. If the power light is blinking and not
pulsing, your board is relaying an error message. You can refer to your
manual for a list of error messages. Make sure your Onewheel+ is placed
on the ground when you power it on and that there is nothing engaging
the pressure pads – these are some of the most common occurrences that
will trigger an error message other than running out of battery.
Why is Onewheel+ pushing me back?
Push back is a speed modulation feature, designed to keep
you riding at a safe speed. ‘Push back’ gives riders tactile feedback by
lifting the nose to signify that the board is traveling at its maximum
speed. A key distinction here is that pushback is not an arbitrary speed
limit which we have decided upon to hold you back, it’s actually the
limit that the board safely go. Pushback is function that is defined by a
number of parameters including battery, grade of terrain, speed, etc.
Check out this video that explains what I’m talking about: Check out this video that explains pushback
It is really important to understand that you can defeat pushback. If
you continue to lean forward and accelerate you are essentially asking
the board to go faster than it can manage and on one wheel, there is
little power left to maintain balance and stability. In order to avoid a
loss of control, make sure you ease up when you experience pushback and
you’ll be good to go.
When your board is close to run out of
battery, you will begin to feel very aggressive pushback. When you
experience aggressive pushback this is your board warning you it will
soon be out of battery and will shut-down.
How do I dismount?
To safely dismount your Onewheel, always slow to a stop and
then remove your foot from the rider detect area. To remove your foot
from the rider detect area, some good options include:
1. Go on your tip-toe, lifting your heel off the back half of the footpad.
2. Jump off with both feet! Nothing wrong with this, but always remove both feet at the same time.
Why is it not engaging?
1. Is your Onewheel switched on using the power switch on the side? If it is, the power button LED will be illuminated.
2.
Is the LED pulsing or blinking? If its blinking, it is indicating an
error. Consult the user manual for an explanation of the blink code and
how to solve it. You can also connect to the Onewheel App to see any
error codes displayed on your phone. Remember: the Onewheel must be
switched on when it is sitting on the ground, and you must not touch the
rider detect area when powering it on.
3. Is your foot
fully on the footpad? Your foot must be touching both halves of the blue
striped rider detect area for Onewheel to engage. Certain very
soft-soled footwear may not properly engage the footpad.
4. Are your batteries charged? When you have a low battery, Onewheel will not begin balancing. Please recharge your board.
5.
Have you come up to level in a slow and controlled fashion? The board’s
balancing algorithms do not engage until you’ve come up to a level
orientation. Coming up to quickly can also prevent correct operation.
How do I carve like the people in your videos?
Practice! Our customers are taking Onewheel to places we’ve
never imagined. For most riders, getting the basics only takes a few
rides. From there, it’s a matter of putting in the time to ride more
aggressively and become comfortable in different riding locations and
conditions. Practice makes perfect!
How much are taxes and duties for my Onewheel?
International taxes and duties vary significantly by country
so we are unable to specify what the exact total will be for each
order. The range can vary between 19% and 23% for most cases. This of
course is not something specific to Onewheel+’s but applies to all
imported products.
Can I fly with my Onewheel+/Onewheel+ XR?
We recommend contacting your airline directly to inquire
about flying with your Onewheel+. With airline approval, devices can
contain larger lithium ion batteries (101-160 watt hours per battery).
Your Onewheel+ XR holds a different battery, which you will not be able
to fly with. You can find battery information on the underside of the
board’s rails.
When should I service my board?
If you ever require a service, check out our options here!
Whenever you see the internal mesh on your tire or notice a significant
leak, it’s time for a replacement. We do not have any service centers
out in the wild yet, but our team offers a quick and reliable service!
Can I Onewheel in the cold?
Riding in colder temperatures can affect the performance of
the board. One key thing is to make sure the board is always being
stored inside. Keeping your board in the cold can cause damage to your
tire, motor, and battery.
Can I ride in any terrain?
Onewheels are built like tanks. Onewheel uses a direct-drive
hub motor that has no moving parts, so you can ride over any terrain
without fear of damaging your board. All Onewheels are water resistant,
so they can withstand some moisture. We recommend taking extra caution
when riding in or near water and letting your board dry completely
before charging to avoid damage.
How can I clean my Onewheel?
You can keep your board sparkly clean! We recommend using a
damp cloth to wipe down your rails, and for your tire and footpads,
we’ve found that using a dry scrub brush gets the job done nicely.
How do I register my board?
Please register your board here!
